Tarot-3 cards 1:1 wisdom

Tarot Cards I read about my decision to coach/mentor 1:1

Last week, I made a quick decision to drop my new group coaching program in favor of going back to what I love, doing 1:1 coaching/mentoring. I felt I needed to do a Tarot Card reading about this decision, so here are the three cards I pulled yesterday.

#1 was Mount Meru-Center of the Universe. To me, this signified where I was, on my own, strong, silent, and hiding back in the clouds, waiting silently for my answer to come to me.

#2 was the Deep End, which shows a Mermaid diving deeply into the ocean, alone and excited by her journey to the bottom, where she will help other women find their own answers.

#3 was Maya/How She Spins. This is so perfect! She's an Elder, spinning her wheel to find the truth behind our illusions of separateness and share it with others. She has no more to prove to anyone and loves her passion and purpose.

I now feel fully committed to this exciting change in my coaching/mentoring of women as they begin their aging journey. I am ready and so excited to start again with all my innate gifts and tools.

Perfection is...What is!

As far back as I can remember, I had to be as perfect as possible. I didn't know what was going to be perfect enough to save me from the harm that I received from my parents when I wasn't "perfect" enough for them. I was in a nearly constant state of fear that I would do something to displease them and reap the consequences.

While elusive and tiring, perfection was also challenging to maintain and even more complex to imagine as I was growing up. Even as an adult, I would spend inordinate amounts of time seeking perfection in my daily activities like spelling perfectly, creating elaborate filing systems so things wouldn't get lost, creating the perfect coaching course modules from an already perfect MindMap, etc. It was so tiring, and it wasn't fun or easy.

About a year ago, I discovered a younger woman coach, Simone Seol, on Facebook. I was both intrigued and scared by her bold appearance and blunt yet exciting words. She wore quirky, oversized glasses, sparkly jewelry, and outrageous outfits. I was hooked and joined her Joyful Marketing group, only to have her quickly transition it into a new container she calls "Home."

This was my first example of someone taking a successful program and rebranding it to make it even better. After nearly a year of her brilliant courses on copywriting, group coaching, being our authentic selves, attracting our "tribe," and learning to take risks, I finally broke free of having to be perfect. I changed course, and all I felt was relief and joy. I could breathe again, and laugh, and be silly.

It's so foolish to strive for some elusive perfection that we can never attain, even if it's defined! It's definitely a huge waste of valuable time that could be better spent on creative play, relaxation, friendships, etc. Make mistakes! Laugh at them! Don't make your life a serious struggle to please others or to make yourself feel safe.

Life is meant to be lived, loved, and even surprising. Go for it!

Inspiration

I sometimes forget

that I was created for Joy

My mind is too busy.

My Heart is too heavy

for me to remember

that I have been

called to dance

the Sacred dance of life.

I was created to smile

To Love

To be lifted up

And to lift others up.

O’ Sacred One

Untangle my feet

from all that trap

Free my soul.

That we might

Dance

and that our dancing

might be infectious
